Be free: Let the past not hold you prisoner

One sure way to be free and not let the past hold you prisoner is by forgiving.

Forgiveness is more like letting go of the thought that you can make your past better.

Recounting the experience and wishing there is something you can do about it so it doesn’t hurt no more is like caging yourself all over again.

Its really hard to let go of that hurtful experience especially when there is a reminder.

Truth is, it has happened,  you need to accept it, take the lesson you can from it, then be better for yourself so you won’t have to experience such again.

Life may have dealt with you in the past, moving forward means accepting you can’t do nothing about what happened.

You can’t change your past but you are solely responsible for how your future will be.

Oprah Winfery  once said ;

“Forgiveness is giving up the hope that the past could be any different.

Not accepting that what happened is OK but accepting that it has happened to you.

Let the past not hold you prisoner. Be free”

What happened is not OK but you’ve got to accept that it has happened, forgive and free yourself.

I bet you wouldn’t want to be a prisoner to what happened in the past.
