Timi Dakolo Teases Collaboration With Davido, Cobhams Asuquo

Ace Nigerian soul musician, Timi Dakolo has enlisted Davido, an Afropop singer, for his forthcoming music project titled ‘The Chorus Leader’.

Dakolo took to his Twitter handle on Monday to share a slew of pictures from his studio session with the singer.

In the photos, both artistes take turns recording their lines for the project to be produced by Cobhams Asuquo.

‘The Chorus Leader’ is to follow after ‘Take‘, Dakolo’s previous collaborative single featuring Olamide, a rapper.

On his Instagram page, Dakolo shared more pictures and gave inexplicit details about the forthcoming project, writing: “Wait for it. Timi Dakolo and @davido. Produced by @cobhamsasuquo. Just wait for it. #thechorusleader.”

Dakolo had earlier spoken of how COVID-19 stalled some of his projects.

“I have a four-album deal with EMI. I did a Christmas album. I’m supposed to start doing a love album. But this COVID thing, I can’t wait for it to be over. Can’t wait to do this the right way and have tours and all that,” he said.

“In showbiz, I see a future for myself anywhere possible. From music, composition, and theme score to writing. I just have to streamline it after a while. I’m still recording and will release new tracks. Fans should be expectant.

“We’re in a digital age; we have an internet community where you don’t have to be present somewhere to have an effect on a thing. That’s why there’s streaming, video calls, and everything aiding the creative space.

“I think the COVID-19 scenario gave us, as artistes, a lot of things to think about. It has caused us to rethink a lot of things. Physical presence isn’t necessarily more effective but people still like live concerts, shows, and all that.”
