TWELVE CHRISTMAS LOCKDOWN CHALLENGES
It is almost that time of the year to put up a Christmas tree. Although one has no idea of what exactly the festive season will look like, it does not mean one is not thinking about it.
This year’s yuletide is going to be a ‘ new normal’ celebration, considering what went down this year.
Just as one approaches this festive season, family and friends have to work closely together to find a safe way to celebrate with one another.
Most churches have already had to change their customary celebration due to convid-19. It would be exciting to spread this yuletide season with some lovey-dovey challenges.
Day 1- Get a meaningful song and share with your spouse, it could be a love song, inspirational song or something that will get both of you rolling with laughter.
Day 2 – A genuine kiss is worth a million words. Shower your lover with kisses at unexpected times and places especially, when he or she is not expecting it. This can easily become a way of saying hello or goodbye.
Day 3 – Get an affordable gift that easily express your love to your partner and If possible, tag it with sweet loving words to explain what the gift stands for.
Day 4 – Devote 30 minutes of your time today to indulge in some kind of fun that your loved one takes pleasure in doing. Pick a game that you can both play together such as a game of chess, cook a meal together. Do something romantic by using this time to connect.
Day 5 – Make use of verbal affirmations to show your love and appreciation for your spouse; wisely choose your words. Do away with over used phrases like, ‘’ love you’’, ‘’ thank you ‘’ that you use without giving it a thought.
Day 6 – Go the extra mile of sending sexy text messages to your partner all through the day, simply to make them smile and laugh.
Day 7 – Prayer is very important, endeavour to always pray for your spouse on a daily basis. Feel free to ask your loved one how you can pray for him/her throughout the day.
Day 8 – Get practical today by serving your partner things as simple as a cup of tea, glass of wine, cook a special meal and clean out his/her car. Complete those chores that they don’t like doing, help fix things that need fixing.
Day 9 – Display your beloved not just on social media but in real life, by dropping inspirational little notes, written jokes, drawing, positive words where your partner can easily locate them to read.
Day 10 – Put in a sealed envelope, a handwritten love letter as a special Christmas gift for your spouse. Take advantage of this to say all the things you might not have been able to say before now.
Day 11- Give your spouse the gift of yourself by choosing one aspect of your relationship to work on, this can actually be in form of apology or confession as you seek to show love the best way you can. If you are not shy, ask your spouse to share something he or she would like you to do as you strive to love better.
Day 12 -Today is the last day of challenge. Invite other couples for dinner, make the festivity be what it ought to be : an expression of love towards yourselves and the people around you.
Trust the above really makes Christmas more exciting for you and your significant other, and keep the fire burning.
This is one Xmas that will be remembered for a long time especially as Santa Claus might be wearing a face mask.
