‘Watch Me Whip’ rapper, Silentó arrested for murdering cousin
Fast rising Atlanta based Rapper, Silentó, 23, has been arrested and charged with murdering his cousin Frederick Rooks, 34, in Georgia last month.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper, was taken into custody on Monday, February 1, and booked into DeKalb County Jail on one felony charge count of murder, according to inmate records and a statement from the DeKalb police department on Twitter.
A DeKalb County Police Department incident report shows that officers found Frederick Rooks, lying on a road in Panthersville, southeast of Atlanta, about 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 21. Rooks had been shot in the face and a leg, the report says.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The department did not provide additional details about how investigators identified Silentó as the suspect.
