4 Ways To Style Your Sequins Dress Properly

By Rita Okoye

A Sequins dress is quite a hot trend these days and one of the best things about this staple, is that it can be worn in a variety of ways owing to its versatility. It also comes in different luxurious colours; black, red, green etc.  They are always a perfect party wear. If you have a love for blingy things, sequins should be your best friend.

Here are 4 important ways to style your sequins dress right!

1. Dress Down Or Pair With Jacket

Transform that sequins cocktail dress to a more ‘relaxed’ look for an evening event by adding a fitted jacket into the mix, just like Toke  Makinwa. A jacket or half jacket will not only add a cool edge to your look, it will also dress down the sequins. Add a pair of statement earrings to sass up your look.

2. Go For Sleek Earrings

If you’re wearing a sequins dress with elaborate designs, just like Empress Njamah’s exaggerated sleeves that grab enough attention, your earrings should be sleek and simple. Studs or skinny drop earrings will bring attention to your neck and your hair.

3. Avoid Too Much ‘Sparkle’

Wear your sequins dress with a pair of nude colour shoes; heels or flats. Avoid glittery shoes which can cause distraction from your outfit. You have to balance your look; less is more!

4. Try A Black Dress

Black sequins are more subtle than those more elaborate colours and designs. With the right accessories including a stylish clutch and a gold pair of earrings, you can create a sleek, chic look
