Everything is sentiment in Nollywood – Halima Abubakar criticizes award snub

Halima Abubakar has weighed in on the latest Eko Star Film & TV awards snub that has been making the rounds. On Monday, April 14, the Eko Star awards recognized female directors, producers, costumiers, distributors, actors, and broadcasters for their significant contributions to the film and television industries.

On Wednesday, the Nollywood actress took to Instagram to express her disappointment at being overlooked at the recently concluded Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and EbonyLife awards.

“Clique and gossip will kill Nollywood I swear”, Abubakar wrote. “Sentimental set of people. Kill joy. I will continue to produce. F*** who don’t like it. Am unproblematic. I give these people roles SMH. Keep snubbing some of us. Acting all posh like are you serious?… Everything is sentiment in Nollywood.”
