Tonto Dikeh pleads with Ghanaian govt over actress Akuapem Poloo’s sentence
Nollywood actress Tonto Dike has joined her voice to others pleading for a lighter sentence for Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail over her naked photo with her son.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Tonto, a single mum of one says nobody tells a mother how to bring up her child; however, it becomes societal responsibility when the child is hurt.
Although the actress condemned the nude photos but pleaded for a lighter sentence for the Ghanaian actress, she also pleads with Nigerians to help sign the petition against her 90 days sentence.
She wrote: One thing They always say is No one can tell a Mother how to bring Up her Child, it only becomes society’s responsibility when you are hurting the child.In this case I see no hurt here, Can I take the same picture? No I couldn’t, not even in the next life but Am different doesn’t mean The Act is Totally wrong..Morally Wrong? YES. CLASSLESS? YES Sir but Not Bad enough to Go to Jail? No, I don’t think so..Dear Nigerians pls show some Love/support. Let’s get this petition document filled up and get Our Girl back home..Thanks.”
In a subsequent post, Tonto Dikeh pleaded the Government should temper justice with mercy as three months without a mother being with her toddler child is a pain no one should experience. She added, “I AM NOT IN SUPPORT OF WHAT POLLO DID.
SHE SHOULD BE PUNISHED, YES BY LAW..WE ARE ONLY SAYING TAMPER JUSTICE WITH MERCY FOR A LIGHTER SENTENCE..3MONTHS WITHOUT YOUR TODDLER CHILD IS A PAIN NO MOTHER SHLD FEEL.”.
