Vimbai Mutinhiri named Zimbabwean Ambassador for UN Foundation GirlUp campaign

TV host Vimbai Mutinhiri – Ekpenyong has been appointed as a Zimbabwean ambassador for the global United Nations Foundation Girl Up Campaign, and she will be heading up the campaign on Gender equality.
Vimbai joins other international celebrities like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kate Hudson in the campaign.


Sharing the news, the 34-year-old expressed how honoured she is to officially join the global campaign. adding “Honoured to officially join the global United Nations Foundation campaign  @GirlUp as an ambassador for #GirlUpZimbabwe.
The statement announcing the new role reads “In line with the activities of its global counterparts, Girlup Zimbabwe is uniting Zimbabwean women and girls across the globe to make a change by investing in the future of girls in Zimbabwe through heading campaigns on issues that affect girls and standing up for their rights. We have amazing Zimbabwean women across the world who are powerful and we are uniting each one of them to amplify the voices of the girlchild. One of these women is @the_vimbai
Vimbai is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of  @thevimbaidotcom an empowerment portal for positive and impactful content targeted at young african women.
