Ned Nwoko, a billionaire businessman and the husband of actress Regina Daniels, has stated that he supports the country’s Twitter ban.

Nwoko said that social media has to be monitored and regulated in countries, speaking at a seminar organized by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abuja Council on June 12.

He said;

“On the current issue with Twitter in Nigeria, I wholeheartedly support the position of the Federal Government.

“There should be a measure of control and regulation for social media in countries where they have a presence.”

Social media giants, according to the former congressman, must pay taxes to governments and employ some Nigerians.
