How to use lubricators to enhance sexual performance

Lubes are not really for post-menopausal ladies only, the simple truth is that, lubricant is one of the best bedroom enhancers in recent times; making intercourse wetter, slicker, more pleasurable and long lasting.

It doesn’t stop there, it can assist you to feel more relaxed and flexible. Lubes come in all kinds of flavours, sensations and textures, to make the experience fun and experimental. You can still use lube even if you can get wet on your own.

However, it is actually a smart move to keep a lube handy, in case your body suddenly decides to go dry due to hormone changes such as pregnancy, breastfeeding or stress.

Oftentimes, couples don’t consider the ingredients that are in these lubes, some of which can cause irritation/allergies/ thrush. Some partners even use saliva as their lubricant but this is watery than slippery and dries out quickly and it’s not a reliable lube.

It is of importance to consider what type of lubricant you want to use. Some lubricants create tingling sensations, cause allergic reactions or irritation and nothing is worse than a burning vagina/manhood.

Here are the different types of lubricant you need to know about; what it can do for your sex life, and how to pick the best one as your bedroom enhancers.

Water based lubricants –  Very sex- positive and are versatile among all the lubricant types. They are safe for all sexual activities including, for use with silicone sex toys. They are popular choices of lubricants; they are inexpensive, non-staining, and a number of them can be ingested in small amounts during love making. They are also safe to use with latex condoms and diaphragms.

Quite a number of ladies prefer water-based lubricant because it feel more like their natural vaginal lubrication, it easily absorbs into the tissues of the vagina, helping to nourish and keep it incredibly easy to wash off after use, leaving your skin clean, silky smooth and free of any residue.

Oil based lubricants – give a great, long-lasting, silky smooth experience and being thicker and more creamy in nature, it helps lovers last longer in bed. Very good to use for masturbation but  not safe to use with latex contraceptives. Both water and oil-based lubricants can be used together during sexual play.

Silicone based –  do not absorb as quickly, but can last for a very long time and are safe to use with latex condoms. They are water- proof, making them great, magical for fun in water like, shower sex, swimming sex or vacation hot tub sex. However, they are not suitable for silicone sex toys because they will damage the surface.

Petroleum based products – are best avoided as they are difficult to wash off, can cause irritation by changing the pH of the vagina. It can lead to yeast infections and they easily destroy condoms and latex products.

Lubricants also come in tubes and applicators which make application easier. A final tip- squirts a little quantity in your hand to warm it up first instead of applying it directly onto the genitals.
