Nigerian reggae musician, Innocent Onyebuchi, popularly known as Daddy Fresh, has been appointed, the new coach of the Creative Industry Group’s (CIG) music section.
The CIG’s President, Felix Duke, revealed this sad news in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos.
The appointment according to Mr. Duke is so the veteran Ajegunle artiste maximise his wealth of experience to the better of the section he’s been appointed to head.
He noted that the new appointee has lots of strategies to be implemented to further boost and strengthen the affairs of the group.
“He is a man with lots of experience necessary to ensure the growth of the music industry, being a veteran artiste himself.
“We wish him an outstanding tenure as we work toward making the creative industry in Nigeria grow in leaps and bounds,” Mr Duke added.
Daddy Fresh, came into the limelight in the mid-80s as a professional musician when he and John Odafe Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, and Friday Igwe, also known as Baba Fryo, among others, performed in a group known as ‘DE Pretty Busy Boys’.
He later dropped some hit songs such as “Eleru Gberu e”, “Faka Fiki Faka” and “Fiji Fa”, which were, unfortunately, all pirated.
