Apparently, not only is it healthy to munch of this chewy goodness, but you can as well go ahead and rub the peel on that pesky pimple that has refused to go. It has been proven that banana peel does work wonders for clearing acne. Research shows that it contains a chemical called Lutein and a host of other vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A, B, C which help curb inflammation and then cure acne.

Method: Wash your face with a cleanser and pat dry with a towel. Pick a small piece of banana peel and rub it on the affected area until the inside of the peel turns brown. Leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water. You can also leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning.

Method: Simply cut-off a portion and rub the white part of the root on the pimple. Wash it off after some minutes and if you keep doing this, you will surely notice a difference soon. You can also grate half a potato into a pulp and apply this pulp directly on to the dark spots and wash it off after 15-20 minutes.

  • Coal tar

Coal Tar is known to belong to a group of drugs called Keratoplastics. When applied to the skin, it aids in shedding dead cells and also slow down the growth of new ones. This way the skin avoids trapping bacteria that causes pimples.
