Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi, begins lupus treatment in US
Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi, has started receiving treatment in the US for lupus.
In March, Kemi revealed that she had been diagnosed with lupus, an inflammatory condition that is incurable and brought on when the immune system assaults its own tissues.
She also disclosed that her doctor had estimated she had five years to live, of which she had already used up one.
Afolabi’s revelation had prompted a lot of support and concerns from celebrities, fans and associates.
She had in May, disclosed her treatment was billed to start in June.
Afolabi announced on Thursday that she has begun her lupus treatment at a hospital outside of Nigeria in an Instagram post.
The actress stated that she is having treatment at the John Hopkins hospital in Maryland, United States, in a message that was accompanied by a video of herself at the hospital.
She went on to thank everyone who had helped make it happen and urged people to wish her luck.
“I commenced my lupus treatment journey today 06/30/2022 with @hopkinsmedicine Alihamdulilah.”
“Some beautiful souls made this happen, God bless you all. Wish me luck. #warrior.”
The actress had lately refuted allegations that she had gone to a renowned church to be treated of the fatal and incurable condition.
