Danofeurope: The Nigerian-Born Photographer Redefining Visual Storytelling from Aberdeen

December 23,2022

Aberdeen, Scotland – Nigerian-born visual artist and photographer Daniel Oriyomi Olotu, professionally known as danofeurope, is carving a unique space in the world of visual storytelling with his minimalist yet deeply emotive style.

His work, blending fine art, editorial portraiture, and documentary photography, reflects a sensitivity to silence, atmosphere, and the quiet poetry of everyday life.

Daniel’s artistic journey began in 2017 when his curiosity for human stories led him to pick up a camera. What started as an experiment has evolved into a career defined by elegance, intentional composition, and an ability to capture moments often overlooked but rich with meaning.

With a professional foundation built at George Okoro Studios in 2021, Daniel mastered editorial and event photography while cultivating a disciplined, client-centered approach. Today, his portfolio spans fashion and beauty portraiture, weddings, events, architecture, and interiors—consistently earning praise from clients across the globe. His artistry has attracted couples from Canada and the United States, who traveled to Scotland to commission him for their wedding photography.

Beyond private commissions, Daniel has collaborated with both international and local brands, fashion designers, eyewear companies, and makeup artists. These partnerships have expanded his creative range, reinforcing his reputation as a trusted creative eye for projects that demand elegance and visual clarity. His work is often praised for its ability to elevate commercial campaigns with the same quiet emotional resonance that defines his fine art practice.

Relocating to Aberdeen in 2023 further shaped his creative language. Inspired by Scotland’s soft northern light and wide-open spaces, Daniel developed a stronger emphasis on narrative and atmosphere in his visual work. Expanding into videography, he launched his introspective series One Word Daily, merging mindfulness and media by reflecting on single inspiring words through visuals and voice.

Published in print and celebrated across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, Daniel—under the moniker danofeurope—has become a trusted visual storyteller whose work resonates across cultures and continents. His expanding portfolio reflects not just technical mastery but also a rare ability to make viewers feel grounded, seen, and connected.

Looking ahead, Daniel is preparing to enter international photography competitions, host gallery exhibitions, and collaborate with global brands and creative thinkers who share his minimalist and soulful ethos.

“My vision is simple,” Daniel explains. “I want to create work that makes people feel seen, grounded, and connected; whether it’s a wedding, a street corner, or a single fleeting glance.”

With his growing body of work, international appeal, and successful brand collaborations, danofeurope is positioning himself as one of the most exciting visual artists of his generation.
