Joke Silva joins AGN Board of Trustees as first female member
Veteran actress, Joke Silva, has joined the Board of Trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
At an actors’ gathering in Lagos, the announcement was delivered by the board’s chairman, Emmanuel Ogugua.
He said that Silva’s inclusion was a result of the board’s growth. She would be the first and only female member of the board since its founding, he continued, representing the Southwest.
Silva expressed his appreciation to the chairman and other members for the honor while responding to the situation.
She said;
For a female, it is about time. Thank you for the honour. This guild is one of the most important pillars in the acting sector of the entertainment industry. The late Amaka Igwe said there are two pillars in the performance industry: cameramen and actors.
This guild is a passion for me. It is one of the pillars that will galvanize the industry for improved and increased productivity. I will do my best to get to the level the Lord allows us to reach. I am honoured.
