Davido launches ‘Dream Football Show’ to empower African youth talent
Nigerian music sensation, Davido, also known as David Adeleke, has teamed up with Abu Salami Media and 1XBet to launch a football talent search program called the ‘Davido Dream Football Show’ (DDFS).
The initiative aims to foster youth football, particularly at the grassroots level, by providing a structured curriculum that can help young players develop fundamental technical and tactical skills.
The program will empower and support young male football talents between the ages of 18 and 22 in Nigeria and throughout Africa, according to Abu Salami, the CEO of Abu Salami Media and Chairman of DDFS.
Abu Salami said;
“The Davido Dream Football Show will enable young football talents to realise their dreams of becoming stars in future.
“First, we will organise screening of those who will register. Once they are screened, we will organise a series of trials. From that exercise, the best among them will be selected for camping for the final show.”
Abu Salami added that the reality TV show will last for 30 weeks, with one episode airing each week.
The program will begin with a screening of those who register, followed by a series of trials. The best performers from the trials will be selected for camping and the final show.
As the President of DDFS, Davido believes that the show will not only engage young minds but also bring about meaningful changes and opportunities for Nigerian and African youth.
Davido added; “We all know impact is essential and a show like this will not only engage the minds of the youths, it will birth meaningful changes and opportunities for youths across Nigeria and Africa as a whole. I believe it’ll also set the pace for impact-driven initiative in grassroots football in Africa.”
The talents selected to join the show will be assessed based on skill, attitude, and commitment through scheduled screenings across Nigeria and camping geared towards training selected talents for trials with partner clubs in Europe.
