Victoria Nwogu, AY, Uti Nwachukwu others grace 2023 South Africa Week

The South African Consulate General, Dr Bobby Moroe hosted the first ever South African week In Lagos, Nigeria.

This was aimed at celebrating 29 years of diplomatic relations between South Africa and Nigeria.

The 23rd of March 2023 function was tagged; A Night with the Stars.. At the Mike Adenuga Complex, Ikoyi (Lagos).

The night included screenings of films, documentaries by South African/Nigerian filmmakers/producers. Followed by a panel discussion on how the creative industry can forge a one Africa.


In attendance were a number of personalities; Victoria Nwogu, AY the comedian, IK Osakioduwa, Pretty Mike, Uti Nwachukwu, Elvina Ibru, Judith Audu, Emmanuel Ikubese, Leo Da silva, and a host of other film Industry practitioners and sponsor companies.

During the panel session that was led by filmmaker Judith Audu, Victoria Nwogu was recorded to have made reference to using a broom as a case study for Nigerian & South African unity.

She quotes “A stick of broomstick cannot sweep, the moment you make broomsticks a bunch, you can sweep from this hall to Falomo, Ikoyi..Nigerians and South Africans need to be more open minded, we need to understand we are better of doing things together. We should apply pressure with our collaborations” She added. She brought humour, detailed and intentional illustrations to the panel discussion.
