2024: Trends to ditch and keep

A brand new year has started— meaning it’s time you got rid of everything outdated from your wardrobe. A proper closet cleaning and upgrade, so to speak.

Here’s a list of fashion trends you should keep and those you should not be caught wearing in 2024.

TRENDS TO DITCH

Skinny jeans

Skinny jeans lost relevance a long time ago. They no longer are a wardrobe staple and you should not be caught wearing them in 2024!

Animal prints

If you still have animal prints in your wardrobe, then we should call the fashion police on you.

Cutouts and sequins

We are done with these two trends from last year and you too should. We’ve literally had enough of the peekaboo glam. Same goes for anything glittery or shimmery which ruled last year.

Chunky clogs

Chunky clogs are out of style; in fact, they now read a bit like clown shoes. Clogs will generally be getting a more streamlined shape in 2024.

TRENDS TO KEEP

Flares, baggy, wide-leg jeans

In place of skinny jeans, go shopping and add to your wardrobe some nice high-waisted wide legs, flares, baggy boyfriend jeans and mom jeans that have a flattering and comfortable fit.

Floral prints

If you really love prints, then instead of animal prints, go for delicate floral prints which are far more sophisticated.

Oversized shoulder bags

Say goodbye to 2023’s petite allure of micro bags. The runways show there is a preference for oversized bags in 2024. This trend will both make a statement and offer the advantage of space.

Stiletto heels

Embrace the timeless allure of stiletto heels as they return to prominence. 2024 is coming with a distinct preference for elongated legs.

Crop top

This is going nowhere yet! Crop tops will continue to captivate the fashion scene and make a stylish, youthful statement in 2024.

High-waisted pants

It’s time to ditch low-rise pants, and let high-waisted pants gracefully accentuate your waistline. The runways have clearly shown that high-waisted pants will rule in 2024.
