Celebrities react to death of Herbert Wigwe

Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media to react to the sudden death of the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, and his wife, Chizoba and son who died after a Chopper carrying the couple and four others crashed in California on Friday night, February 9.  

According to reports, the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near boulder City, which is between Nevada and California on Friday night. 

According to the San Bernardino Sherriff’s department, the helicopter took off from Palm Springs Airport around 8.45pm and was heading to Las Vegas when it crashed around 10pm. 

The 57 year old bank executive, his wife, and their son were said to be onboard the ill-fated chopper.  

The group chairman of the Nigerian Export Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, is also said to have been on the Chopper.

Reacting to the sad news, popular Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola wrote, “May The Lord rest the souls of the departed.

The father, the mother and their son with other 3 people, all gone like that! May The Almighty gives the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Paul Okoye PaulO , the Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Upfront & Personal Global Management Consultants stated that he is heartbroken, “Oh My God! What?”, he wrote adding a heartbreak symbol.

Nollywood actress, Sophia Williams added, ‘This life is so fragile. One minute you are gone. May their souls rest in peace.”
