SmithCLOTHIER’s The Potter Collection — A Celebration of Modern Simplicity and Timeless Elegance

SmithCLOTHIER Fashion brand recently unveiled its latest masterpiece the POTTER COLLECTION at a private gathering in Lagos. The event took place in a sophisticated rooftop space that overlooked the bustling city but felt completely calm and exclusive. Soft music played in the background and the golden glow of sunset filtered through floor to ceiling windows.

It was an atmosphere that felt peaceful and luxurious setting the stage for a collection designed for women who appreciate modern simplicity and timeless elegance.

The Creative director and fashion designer OSAZUWA Smith Oshodin delivered a collection that was not loud but spoke volumes in its beauty and grace.

As a visionary fashion designer brings a fresh perspective to contemporary African fashion by merging bold cultural elements with modern elegance.

The Potter Collection explores three powerful expressions of the modern muse—each look a reflection of grace, strength, and refined identity.

Starting with the floral dress which is a vibrant celebration of femininity and self-expression. This look features bold floral Ankara prints with an off-shoulder silhouette and dramatic sleeves—blending structure and flow for an effortlessly regal presence.

The dramatic sleeves and fitted cut strike a balance between traditional African print and modern couture flair.
This outfit is the embodiment of modern African glamour: rooted in tradition, styled for today’s woman.
It captured everyone’s attention from the moment the model stepped onto the minimalist runway.

Then came the Royal Crepe. This outfit is where modern style meets a touch of royalty. Made with crepe material paired with a soft white coat detailed with elegant gold embroidery.
This minimalist-chic ensemble leans into sophistication with a clean, monochrome base and a touch of embellishment. The black fitted top and flared trousers create a streamlined silhouette, while the white longline jacket adds structure and contrast.
The gold embroidered pattern along the jacket lapel elevates the outfit, adding visual interest without overwhelming the simplicity.
The jacket’s length is good for layering, but a slightly more tailored cut could enhance the sophistication.

The final look of the collection is the KASOSA set which demonstrates power dressing.
The model stepped out on a wide-leg black trousers and a cinched high waist blouse.
This is a sleek, all-black ensemble that radiates confidence and elongates the frame. The fitted waistline and flared trousers create a flattering silhouette, while the long, slightly flared sleeves echo the trousers’ shape for visual harmony.

Fashionista can never go wrong on Black-on-black. It is timeless and slimming, exuding sophistication without effort.

With an all-black palette, adding a statement necklace, bold earrings, or a metallic belt could enhance visual interest while keeping the sophistication intact.

SmithCLOTHIER’s Potter collection is a beautiful reminder that fashion can be both simple and luxurious. Every design had its own quiet confidence allowing women to feel effortlessly beautiful in any setting.

OSAZUWA Smith Oshodin has once again shown his understanding of timeless women’s fashion by creating a collection that felt personal refined and completely wearable.
