EMY Africa, a renowned awards platform, is set to host its second Soiree in Lagos on September 7, 2024. The event follows a successful debut in August 2023 and promises to bring together influential personalities and movie stars in Africa.

At a press briefing in Lagos, Mr. Kojo Soboh, founder of EMY, noted that although the EMY Africa Awards honor men who have demonstrated exceptional values, achievements, and commitment to societal progress, this year’s event will also recognize women who have made significant impacts in society.

The EMY Africa Awards has, over the past nine years, elevated numerous achievers across various industries, communities, culture, and public service in Africa and beyond by celebrating and spotlighting their inspirational achievements. Notable figures from Nigeria who have been honored on the EMY Awards platform include Akinwumi Adesina, Tony Elumelu, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), and Adebola Williams, amongst others.

This year’s Soiree will announce competitive award nominations across various fields, including technology, science, business, and media, for the 9th EMY Africa Awards, scheduled for October 26, 2024. “Guests can expect an evening of networking, inspiration, and celebration of African excellence,” Mr. Soboh stated.

Mr. Soboh also noted that EMY Africa has had a transformative 2024, marked by significant milestones, innovative projects, and a commitment to celebrating African excellence. The platform has hosted various events, including the Awards Issue Release Party, hosting Stevie Wonder in Ghana, the EMY Africa Expo, and the Africa Rising Symposium and London Soiree.

Partners for the EMY Africa Lagos Soiree include Weststar Associates Ltd (Mercedes Benz Nigeria), KGL Group, Diaspora Affairs (Office of the President of Ghana), and others.
