Silverbird Unveils Plans for Miss Universe Nigeria 2024
The Silverbird Group on Wednesday set the stage for the highly anticipated Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant with a glamorous press conference at the Silverbird Galleria.
The event brought together key stakeholders, sponsors, and media as excitement mounts for the grand finale slated for August 31st at the Eko Convention Centre.
Guy Murray-Bruce, President of the Silverbird Group and National Coordinator of Miss Universe Nigeria, outlined the pageant’s vision for empowering women and promoting Nigerian beauty on the global stage. He emphasized the pageant’s commitment to inclusivity, welcoming women from all walks of life to participate.
This year’s winner will not only carry the Nigerian flag at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico but will also receive a substantial cash prize of N10 million and other valuable gifts. The runner-up will have the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss Supranational pageant.
To ensure the contestants are well-prepared, they will undergo a rigorous one-week camp at the Festival Hotel Festac, where they will receive training in various areas including public speaking, etiquette, and personal development.
Adding a touch of glamour to the event, beauty and lifestyle brands, including Checkers Custard, Lush Hair, Nutrify, Henkel (Go2B Styling Glue), and Enchanteur Fragrance, expressed their unwavering support for the pageant and their excitement to be part of the journey to crowning the next Miss Universe Nigeria.
Outgoing queen, Ugochi Ihezue Nwachukwu, shared her reign highlights and announced an exciting initiative to support contestants through sponsorships. She encouraged the delegates to foster a spirit of camaraderie and support one another throughout the competition.
A major highlight of the press conference was the announcement of Chidimma Adetshina as the 25th delegate representing Taraba State. Chidimma, who recently withdrew from the Miss South Africa pageant due to nationality issues, has accepted an invitation to join the Miss Universe Nigeria competition, adding a new dimension to this year’s pageant.
The public is encouraged to participate in the pageant by voting for their favorite contestant. Voting is now open and will continue until August 30th.
As the countdown to the grand finale begins, anticipation is high as Nigeria eagerly awaits the crowning of its next Miss Universe.
