Our Dream Christmas – Celebrities Speak

December 23,2024
Share:

Christmas is just around the corner, and our celebrities are ready to embrace the holiday spirit and all the festive cheer. Allure Vanguard spoke with several Nigerian celebrities to hear about their dream Christmas celebrations and their plans for this year’s holiday season.

I want to experience real-life Santa – Olisa Judith (Content Creator)

I am very bad with celebrations if I’m being honest. I barely even celebrate my birthday and all these occasions. I am just thankful. It is nothing special.
When I was younger, I always wanted to experience Santa like it is in the movies. Now that I am grown, I want to experience Christmas in other countries and see how it is. I want to express love and extend love to people who cannot afford it in this season. I will be celebrating this year’s Christmas outside Nigeria for the first time.

My dream Christmas is wearing matching outfits with my partner… –Cynthia Salawu (actress)

As a young girl growing up, I had always wanted to wear those matching outfits with my partner, snapping pictures close to the Christmas tree while we exchanged gifts. This year, I will be spending Christmas with my family. I will also be attending a lot of shows and events.
I have been advised to go out more. I am too reserved. I am an introvert but I will have to change from henceforth.

To sponsor my family, and friends on Christmas vacation – Ifeoma Nebe (actress)

My dream Christmas has always been me wanting to sponsor my family and friends on a vacation to a beautiful country. We will take photos, have fun and merry together.
One of the fun memories of Christmas was travelling to the village and being welcomed with udara by my grandparents. Then, we used to start preparations for Christmas stew and chicken on the 24th. The wait was always interesting.

I love the idea of spending quality time with family – Nosa Obaseki (Filmmaker)
I have also loved the idea of spending quality time with my family and having the required rest before work resumes in January. My favourite Christmas memory as a child is when my daddy used to take us to the amusement park and have a little get-together with a few close family friends.
My plans for Christmas this year will be a bit different because, I will be spending time away from my family. So, it’s going to be a low-key celebration with just a few friends.

Eating, drinking with extended family members – Emeka Okoye (actor)

My dream Christmas is that special Christmas where you are home with entire extended families eating, drinking and playing games and, most especially, worshipping God for the gift of life.
I miss how every Christmas my dad and mum will buy our clothes and shoes. The sitting room decorations will change with Christmas lights and we would also have access to watch home videos.
My plan this Christmas is to spend it with my family and also travel to Benin Republic for a short vacation away from work. Our work is tedious; so, we also need to rest.

Christmas in Greece with my family – Sylvia Olisa

I have always dreamed of spending the Christmas holiday with my family on a very peaceful, conducive island. Maybe Maldives or Greece. Greece looks like a beautiful Christmas holiday destination. I would love to be there with my whole family.
I miss going to the village with my parents during this season. The road trip, the whole preparations. Then, 24th night, we all get eager for the next day to wear our Christmas clothes.
This year, I would be with my family, bond with them, and take my kids out. I would love to take them wherever they want to. I am selfish with my Christmas holidays, so I can spend quality time with my kids.
