The much-anticipated Sprout by Barinaada Legal (BL) successfully took place in Lagos, marking a historic first as a Nigerian legal practitioner hosted an event solely dedicated to empowering business owners, startup founders, and entrepreneurs.

Sprout by BL 2024, themed “From Idea to Borderless Growth,” brought together Africa’s most innovative minds for a transformative day of expert-led panels, workshops, fireside conversations, and premium networking opportunities. The event was curated to drive meaningful conversations, bridging the gap between innovative startups and sustainable growth across borders.

The event featured a stellar lineup of speakers, including Ruth Okunuga (Founder, Wasche Point), Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze (Actress, Filmmaker, CEO, Desparanza Media), Chris Ajieh (Entertainment Lawyer, Barinaada Legal), and Nnamani Nonso Stanley (Czar), CEO of Stakecut. Other notable speakers included Babatunde Akin-Moses (Co-founder, Sycamore), Ayodeji Agboola (Founder, Akowe), and Olatunde Victor Adeoluwa (CEO, SalesPlat). Together, they provided actionable strategies for startup scalability, legal frameworks, innovative business models, and financial readiness.

A major highlight of Sprout by BL 2024 was its unique focus on blending business strategy and legal education, solidifying its position as a groundbreaking initiative led by a legal practitioner. Barinaada Iheanacho, the founder of Barinaada Legal and the convener of the event, stated, “Sprout by BL is more than just a gathering; it’s a movement to build a community of legally-conscious founders and entrepreneurs equipped with the tools to grow sustainable businesses.”

The event delivered on its promise of a premium experience. Participants enjoyed exclusive resource packs, vibrant musical performances, and exceptional culinary offerings, all contributing to an atmosphere of inspiration and collaboration.

Sprout by BL 2024 also stood out for its real-time adaptability and collaborative spirit. Notably, Ruth Okunuga stepped in as the keynote speaker on the morning of the event, delivering an impactful address that resonated deeply with attendees.

“The feedback has been phenomenal,” Barinaada added. “We are creating a space where African startups can thrive and access opportunities that will take their ideas across borders. This is just the beginning.”

Participants, speakers, and attendees expressed excitement for Sprout by BL 2025, with many highlighting the event’s premium feel, insightful sessions, and valuable networking opportunities.

As the curtain closes on Sprout by BL 2024, it is clear that this platform has come to stay, with plans already underway to make next year’s edition even bigger.
