Her innovative approach to luxury cosmetics, commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and empowerment, has made her a trailblazer in the Nigerian beauty space.
Delphine shares her remarkable entrepreneurial journey, from her transition from microbiology to cosmetics, to building a brand that celebrates individuality and promotes self-love.

What sparked the shift from microbiology which you studied in school, to founding a cosmetics company?
I have always loved and had a very deep passion for beauty in general. My background in Microbiology provided me with a scientific foundation that fuels my understanding of product formulation and safety, which are essential in cosmetics.
So, over time, my passion for beauty grew, and then came the desire to bridge the gap between science and luxury, creating products that are not just effective, but also safe and innovative.
What was your family’s initial reaction to your career transition, and how has their perspective changed overtime?
Initially, my parents were hesitant. Like many, they valued traditional career paths and weren’t sure about the beauty industry’s potential. My mum especially, supported me because she saw my determination. Now, seeing how far I’ve come and the impact I’ve made, they couldn’t be prouder. Their unwavering support means the world to me.
How was Bare to Beauty Cosmetics Born?
The journey started with a vision: to make luxury make-up accessible to women of all backgrounds. I identified a gap in the market for high-quality, affordable beauty products tailored to diverse skin tones and needs. After extensive research, collaborations with experts, and overcoming challenges, Bare to Beauty Cosmetics was born- a brand rooted in inclusivity and sophistication.
What inspired the creation of your product range?
The inspiration for my product range stems from a lifelong passion for beauty and a deep understanding of the transformative power of self-confidence. I wanted to create a brand that offers affordable luxury. Products that deliver premium results without compromising on quality, inclusivity, or accessibility. Each product is a celebration of individuality and self-expression.
What is the significance of your brand slogan, “Beauty That Speaks?”
“Beauty That Speaks” encapsulates the idea that beauty is more than skin deep, it’s a statement of confidence, authenticity, and empowerment. Our products are designed to enhance natural beauty while allowing every user to tell their unique story. It’s about creating beauty that resonates both internally and externally.
How do you prioritise product safety and ensure that all your products are Paraben-Free and Hypoallergenic?
Product safety is a non-negotiable priority. We work with leading dermatologists and cosmetic chemists to formulate products that are rigorously tested for safety and efficacy. By choosing clean, high-quality ingredients and adhering to global standards, we ensure that all our products are free from parabens and gentle on even the most sensitive skin.

How do you ensure that your beauty products and business practices align with the growing demand for sustainability in the industry?
Sustainability is woven into our brand ethos. We prioritise eco-friendly packaging, source ethically, and work towards minimising our carbon footprint. Our long-term goal is to adopt circular beauty practices, ensuring that every step of our process from formulation to distribution respects the planet.
As a successful female entrepreneur, what advice would you give to women who are looking to start their own businesses?
My advice is to start with clarity of purpose and a strong vision. Believe in your ability to succeed, even when faced with challenges. Surround yourself with a supportive network, stay adaptable, and always be willing to learn. Most importantly, don’t wait for perfection, take that first step and refine along the way.
How do you think your brand and products empower women, what message do you hope to convey through your work?
Our brand is about celebrating individuality and building confidence. By offering products that cater to diverse needs, we empower women to feel beautiful in their own skin. Through my journey, I want to show women that they can break barriers and achieve greatness, no matter their starting point.
What’s your take on the growing trend of body enhancement surgeries, like BBLs, among women in Nigeria?
I believe beauty is deeply personal, and every woman has the right to make choices that boost her confidence. If someone opts for body enhancement surgery, it’s important they do it for themselves and not due to societal pressure, and they should consult qualified professionals. That said, I’m a firm believer in self-love and embracing natural beauty. Confidence doesn’t come from how you look; it’s about how you feel inside.
What challenges have you faced as a female entrepreneur in Nigeria, and how have you overcome them?
One of the most significant challenges has been navigating societal perceptions and biases that sometimes, undermine women in leadership positions. Entrepreneurship in Nigeria often comes with gendered expectations, where women are seen as less capable of managing large scale businesses. This can lead to hesitations from potential investors, suppliers, or even customers.
Another challenge is the difficulty in accessing funding, as many women-owned businesses struggle to secure the capital needed for growth, particularly in industries like beauty that are sometimes undervalued by male-dominated financial institutions. Additionally, operating in Nigeria means dealing with infrastructural issues, such as inconsistent power supply, unreliable logistics, and bureaucratic hurdles.
To overcome these challenges, I’ve focused on building a strong personal brand and a reputation for excellence. By ensuring my company consistently delivers value and quality, I have earned trust and respect in the industry. Networking has also been a powerful tool, I have sought out mentorship and partnerships with both local and international stakeholders who understand my vision and are willing to support it.
I’ve also leveraged technology to streamline operations, manage logistics, and reach more customers, bypassing some traditional barriers. Lastly, I stay resilient and committed to empowering other women by creating opportunities for them within my business and community, ensuring we all rise together.

What was your upbringing like, and how did it shape your values, personality and passion?
I grew up in an environment that encouraged creativity and self-expression. From an early age, I was surrounded by people who valued individuality and the power of pursuing your dreams, which deeply influenced me. My family instilled the importance of hard work, perseverance, and staying grounded, no matter where life takes you.
My passion for beauty started early, and I was always experimenting with products and observing how they could transform confidence. My upbringing taught me that beauty isn’t just about appearance, it’s about empowerment, self-care, and creating something that resonates with others.
Those values, authenticity, inclusivity, and determination, are at the heart of everything I do today. They’ve shaped not just my personality but also the way I’ve built my brand.
How do you stay motivated?
I stay motivated by reminding myself of the impact I want to make, creating a legacy that inspires others. Seeing my products transform lives and receiving positive feedback from customers keeps me driven. I also set clear goals and celebrate small wins along the way.
You’re obviously very fashionable; how would you describe your style?
My style is timeless yet bold. I love clean, elegant silhouettes that exude confidence but aren’t afraid to make a statement. I always balance comfort with sophistication, and I believe accessorizing is key to elevating any outfit.
Where’s your best holiday destination?
I absolutely adore Monaco in France for its breathtaking views and serene atmosphere. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and inspiration. I also love other parts of South of France like Nice, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez.
When you’re not working, how do you spend your ‘me’ time?
I recharge by indulging in self-care rituals, reading inspirational books, or exploring new hobbies. I love the Spa. I could spend a whole day at the Spa. In addition, quiet evenings with family or close friends also bring me immense joy. I also enjoy binging on a Netflix Show every now and again.
It is your birthday in a few days. How does it feel being a year older?

Each birthday feels like a new chapter, a chance to reflect on growth and set new intentions. It’s a reminder to celebrate how far I’ve come and to stay excited for what’s ahead. Aging gracefully and intentionally is a privilege I embrace.
What lessons would you say life has taught you as a person and an entrepreneur?
Life has taught me the importance of resilience, gratitude, and adaptability. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that challenges are stepping stones, not roadblocks. Building meaningful relationships and staying true to my values have been key to both personal and professional success.
