Osagie Onolunose Wins Winter 2026 Geek Digest Fiction Award

LONDON — Geek Digest Magazine is proud to announce Osagie Onolunose as the winner of the Winter 2026 Geek Digest Fiction Award.

His debut novel, Call the Four, was selected from a highly competitive field of entries for its narrative depth and urgent social relevance.

A Scathing Commentary on Modern Britain
Set against the atmospheric backdrop of Edinburgh, Call the Four follows the mysterious disappearance of four teenagers in a single night. What begins as a gripping mystery quickly unfolds into a scathing societal commentary on immigration and the complex racial tensions currently surfacing across the United Kingdom.

Through Onolunose’s lens, the “cascading events” following the disappearance serve as a powerful exploration of how society reacts to crisis through the prism of identity and belonging.

High Praise from the Judges

The selection process for the Winter 2026 edition was particularly rigorous. Jon Night, Award Director at Geek Digest, noted the exceptional caliber of this year’s submissions.

”The award saw numerous top-quality fiction entries that presented a tough challenge to our editors,” said Night. “Ultimately, Call the Four stood out for its outstanding, beautiful prose and its timely theme. It is a work that truly holds a mirror to the world right now.”

A Rising Star in Fiction
For Onolunose, a Nigerian author now calling Edinburgh home, the win marks a significant milestone in his literary career. Since its release, the book has garnered a passionate following for its unflinching honesty and lyrical style.

”I am delighted to see my debut novel receive this level of recognition,” said Osagie Onolunose. “I have been amazed by the overwhelming love from readers, and this award is a wonderful testament to the connection the story has made with people.”

About the Geek Digest Fiction Award

The Geek Digest Fiction Award is a biannual prize hosted by London-based Geek Digest Magazine. It seeks to honor innovative storytelling that challenges perspectives and showcases excellence in contemporary prose.
