Rain or Shine: How to Keep Your Makeup Intact

The rainy season can be a nightmare for makeup lovers, with humidity and unexpected showers causing foundation to melt and eyeliner to smudge. Thankfully, a few smart beauty tricks can help your makeup stay fresh all day.

  • Prep Your Skin Properly

Long-lasting makeup begins with skincare. During the rainy season, skin tends to produce more oil because of the humidity, so lightweight products work best.
Cleanse your face thoroughly before applying makeup and follow with an oil-free moisturiser. Hydrated skin helps makeup sit better and last longer.

  • Mattifying Primer

A mattifying primer is also essential as it creates a smooth base and helps control shine, and gives makeup a smooth base to last longer.

Carry Touch-up Essentials
Blotting papers, compact powder, and a mini setting spray can help refresh your makeup during the day.
With the right products and techniques, your makeup can stay flawless no matter how unpredictable the weather gets.

Choose Lightweight Makeup
Heavy foundation can easily slide off in humid weather. Opt for lightweight, long-wear formulas like BB creams or matte foundations applied in thin layers.

Set Your Makeup
Use translucent powder on oily areas and finish with a setting spray to lock everything in place.

Go Waterproof
Waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and brow products are essential during the rainy season to prevent smudging.

Keep Lips Simple
Matte lipsticks and lip stains last longer than glossy formulas and are less likely to smear.
