Expert reiterates importance of knowledge in attaining healthy natural hair
A hair care expert has reiterated the importance of adequate education and knowledge in attaining healthy hair.
Chijioke Anaele, Chief Executive Officer, Natures Gentle Touch, said this while speaking at a natural hair training workshop held at Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute, Ikeja, Lagos.
Anaele also stated that education also remains critical to the growth and professionalisation of Nigeria’s beauty industry, adding that initiatives such as the workshop can help create new opportunities for young people and beauty professionals.
According to him, achieving strong, healthy hair requires a combination of proper scalp care, gentle physical handling, and a balanced diet that feeds your hair follicles from the inside out.
The workshop brought together hair professionals, aspiring stylists, beauty entrepreneurs and natural hair enthusiasts for an engaging learning experience focused on the proper care, management and styling of natural hair.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Anaele stated that the Institute was established to bridge the knowledge gap in natural hair care and equip people with practical skills that can create lasting value.
“At Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute, we believe that healthy hair begins with knowledge. Our goal is not simply to teach people how to style hair, but to help them understand hair, care for it properly and make informed decisions about the products and techniques they use. This workshop is part of our broader commitment to empowering professionals and consumers with the knowledge they need to achieve healthier, more beautiful natural hair.”

“The workshop underscores the institute’s commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills required to build healthier hair journeys while strengthening professional capacity within Nigeria’s beauty and personal-care industry.
“As interest in natural hair continues to grow, Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute remains focused on delivering quality education, practical training and professional development opportunities that promote healthier hair practices and support the growth of Nigeria’s beauty industry,” he added.
The workshop featured expert-led sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of natural hair, including hair and scalp care, product selection, healthy hair practices, styling techniques and professional approaches to managing different natural hair textures. Participants also had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge that can be applied both at home and in professional salon environments.
The event provided an avenue for participants to interact with industry experts, ask questions and share experiences, reinforcing the Institute’s role as a platform for learning, innovation and community within the natural hair sector.
