The 80-year-old actor and his wife attended the Audio Visual Rights Society (AVRS) exclusive event at Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island, where he was honored for his career accomplishment. The Actors Guild of Nigeria announced on Wednesday that they had been released. The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, presided over by Justice Olusola Adetujoye, has adjourned the hearing in the N200 billion libel suit filed by the Awujale and supreme ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, against Yinka Aiyefele Limited, the proprietor of Fresh FM 105.9 Radio Station, on Tuesday until sine die. Oba Adetona has filed an 11-paragraph statement of claim asking for N200 billion in damages for claimed libel in the radio program “Talk Your Own with Chikito Duru,” which was produced and broadcast by the defendant on Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan on December 22, 2019. From December 22, 2019 to September 4, 2020, it was rumored to have been simultaneously transmitted online and preserved on its news server. A court order of injunction prohibiting the defendant from posting or causing to be published any more similar or identical defamatory statements about or about the claimant or the expense of the lawsuit is also sought by the traditional ruler. The only defendant in the lawsuit with the case number I/972/2020 was named as Yinka Ayefele Limited by the plaintiff, Awujale, through his attorney, O. Ayanlaja, SAN of M/S Ayanlaja, Adesanya & Co. According to Ayanlaja, the words used on the radio program referred to and were understood to refer to the claimant in their natural and ordinary meaning and were intended to disparage the claimant in both his position as a person of international renown and as the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland. Ayanlaja claimed that the claimant had also suffered harm to his reputation, character, and credit as well as a decrease in the respect of right-thinking society members and emotional hurt. Since it was allegedly supposed to have happened in 1984, The Awujale insisted that Yinka Ayefele Limited was aware that the alleged comments were false and defamatory. In honour of his late son, Olayinka Olalekan, veteran juju performer Ebenezer Obey has started a ministry to fight drug and alcohol abuse. The ministry, which he called Freedom from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Ministry (FADAM), aims to educate young people about the dangers associated with excessive aversion to drugs and alcohol. Obey made a suggestion that Olayinka may have died from drug addiction when discussing the inspiration for the ministry.  He continued by saying that he made an effort to support Olayinka in overcoming his weaknesses in his role as a father. Obey claimed that six months earlier, medics called him to tell him that Olayinka only had a few months to live. He claimed that FADAM will provide a means of helping the families and caregivers of alcoholic and drug-dependent youngsters to overcome the difficulties facing them. Nigerian artist, Bella Shmurda, real name Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, has chronicled his journey from grass to grace. The musician was a guest on Echo Room TV’s Link Up, where he spoke extensively about his ascent to stardom and other topics. In his conversation with the host, the singer confessed that despite his success, his mother would still call him to go deliver chairs to clients of her rental business. Additionally, he recounted how he had stolen a neighbor’s bicycle and had sold it for N7,000 in the well-known Alaba Market. He admitted that he used some of the funds on a studio session to further his musical career. He also discussed how the fact that he was turned down for a show at LASU inspired him to work hard to succeed in his singing career. He went on to say that Poco Lee had an impact on his song, Vision 2020, and that he was responsible for its social media success. Olamide approached him soon after for a collaborative remix of the song and even paid for the shooting of the music video.
