Waje in South Africa – to perform in Africa Day Concert
Waje just landed in Johannesburg, South Africa for the Africa Day 2016 concert in which she is billed to perform. She posted on her instagram that she just arrived Joburg and headed to a radio station for an interview. The concert would be holding on Saturday the 28th in Newton, South Africa.
The concert is a celebration of African diversity and cultural heritage. It marks the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity O.A.U (now known as the African Union) back in May 1963. The organisation’s objectives were to promote unity between African nations and provide a support mechanism for liberation movements of colonized African nations.
Waje being honoured with performing in this concert just means she is recognized all over Africa as it’s only a few artists deemed as Africa’s top stars that are to perform there.
