Penultimate Saturday would remain a remarkable day in the lives of some Nigerian students as they gathered for the most inspiring event of the year. It was the leadership seminar organized by the HOW (Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe) Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by Mr. Herbert Wigwe, MD of Access Bank. With the theme ‘BE THE BEST’, the main speaker was UK-based Joshua Ajitena who motivated students with practical examples on how to ‘BE THE BEST’ in their respective chosen endeavours.
The event which held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, had in attendance secondary school students from Kings’ College, St. Gregory’s, Excel Baptist School, God’s Grace Secondary School and a host of others.
Speaking on the essence of the event, CEO of HOW Foundation, Ms. Anthonia Ally, said the importance of encouraging young people to be what they want to be, believing that there’s nothing stopping them except themselves, cannot be over-emphasized.
The seminar also featured games, a question and answer segment and lots more. Closing the event, Ms. Ally asked the teachers present to send-in report sheets of their students, at the end of the term, when laptops will be given to the deserving ones.
