Moderator and panelist pull out of conference due to Bobrisky’s inclusion
By Sewe Ishola
Twitter is awash in news of the withdrawal of the moderator, Subomi Plumptre of Alder Consulting and presidential aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmed from this year’s New Media and Citizens and Governance conference organised by Enough is Enough Nigeria, due to the inclusion of cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky.
While many people are questioning the relevance of Bobrisky on the panel, Adler Consulting have issued a statement on behalf of Plumptre and their firm, saying the original list of panelists sent to her did not include Bobrisky’s name and she had learnt about the latest panelist like every other person on Twitter.
And that in itself was enough for the firm and Subomi to withdraw from the annual event, which had often discussed issues confronting the people of Nigeria.
The presidential aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmed had yesterday withdrawn his participation at the event, although no reason was given, even though, many had alleged that the inclusion of the self processed king of Snapchat in the programme was the reason.
