Nigerian dancehall singer, Patoranking’s ”My woman, my everything” wins song of the year

Nigerian Reggae/ Dancehall singer, Patoranking clinched the award for ”Song of the Year” at the just concluded MTV Africa Music Video Awards (MAMA) 2016.
His hit song ”My woman, my everything” featuring Wande Coal knocked out Harrysong’s Reggae blues, Olamide’s Shakitibobo, SA rapper Emtee’s ‘Roll up Re up’ featuring Wizkid and AKA, Korede Bello’s ‘Godwin’, DJ Maphorisa’s ‘Soweto baby’ featuring Wizkid, and Sauti Sol’s ‘Unconditionally bae’ featuring Alikiba.
Patoranking came into prominence in the music industry with the hit song ”Alubarika” that featured Timaya.
The award-winning song was released in his debut album “God Over Everything” in August 2016, to critical and then as they say the rest became history.
He has many awards to his credits before now. He won the Headies 2014 award for the Next Rated Act, Best Collaboration for ”Emergency” featuring Runtown, Skales and the best reggae/ dancehall single for ” Girlie O” remix featuring music diva, Tiwa Savage.
The MAMA award held on the night of Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg, South Africa, witnessed other artistes emerge winners in various categories.
The MAMA awardees included Wizkid who was decorated with three awards (‘Best Male Artist’, ‘Artist of the Year, and Best Collaboration),
