There is no depth in their song- Seun Kuti slams Nigerian musicians
By Rita Chioma
Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, in a recent interview with Revolt TV, lamented that most so-called music artistes in Nigeria are just entertainers, simply packaged and sold to mainstream media as a product.
“True art requires depth, there is no depth to most artists, they are just packaged and sold as a product to mainstream media” says the son of the Late Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti -Seun Kuti.
Seun also revealed that virtually, all his songs are socially and politically charged to help fight corruption in our society.
He also added that in his opinion, in terms of arrangement, composition and message, he believes Afrobeat is pop music but Africans are simply scared of competing with American pop musicians.
