Another Nigerian aside from Wizkid  has been nominated for the  2017 Grammy Awards.

She is Kah-Lo, who is daughter of Nigeria’s former Minister of Defence, Demola Seriki.

The musician, whose real name is Faridah Demola Seriki, received her first ever Grammy nomination for the vocals on ‘Rinse & Repeat’ by British DJ, Riton.

Kah-Lo is one of two Nigerian artistes nominated for a Grammy, with pop star, Wizkid also getting his first ever nomination for featuring on Drake’s album, Views.

The track, released in March 2016 and produced by Riton, is nominated in the Best Dance Recording category along with ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ by The Chainsmokers featuring Daya, Bob Moses’ ‘Tearing Me Up’, Sofi Tukker’s ‘Drinkee’, and ‘Never Be Like You’ by Flume featuring Kai.

So far, the song has gathered just over six million views on YouTube as well as 2.9 million streams on Soundcloud.

Other than ‘Rise & Repeat’, Kah-Lo and DJ Riton have worked on another single titled ‘Betta Riddim’.

The Grammy will hold at Staples Center, Los Angeles in February 2017.
