American actress, Viola Davis is leading again with Oscar nominations

American actress, Viola Davis was the first recipient of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star, for 2017, she has also made history as the first black woman with 3 Oscar nominations, following the release of the 2017 Oscar nomination list.
Viola’s Oscar nomination for her supporting role in “Fences.” clinched the top spot for her.
Not new to making history, in 2015 she became the first black woman to win an Emmy for a lead actress in a drama series for her , complicated law professor role as Annalise Keating in “How to Get Away With Murder,
Viola Davis got her first Oscar nomination for a brief but scene-stealing appearance in the 2008 film “Doubt.”
She got her second Oscar nomination in 2012 for her role as a maid in the Southern period drama “The Help.”
Actress Whoopi Goldberg is the former record holder, with 2 Oscar nominations for ‘The Color Purple’ in 1986 and ‘Ghosts’ in 1991.
