Prince Williams and Prince Harry, sons of late Princess Diana, will sometime this year unveil a statue of their mother in Kesington palace.
Her sons Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry feel this is an action and gesture long overdue in order to memorialize the legacy and influences of their mother in history.
The Princes have assembled a private committee to help raise funds to sponsor the sculpting of the statue.
According to a statement released on the 28th of January, the statue is set to be placed in the public gardens in Kensington Palace after definite decisions on the details of the design of the statue and the sculptor are being made. These decisions will be made by the Princes in association with the Historic Royal Palaces.
“It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue”
“Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy”
