Movie director, Kemi Adetiba advises scriptwriters to seek legal protection for their scripts

Following the court order to stop the premiere of actress, Omoni Oboli’s Okafor’s Law as well as confiscation the movie materials, movie and music video director, Kemi Adetiba has bared her mind on the issue.
She advised scriptwriters to never send out a finished script without legal protection.
According to her, unsolicited scripts exposes both the sender and the recipient.
She wrote:
“I thoroughly understand the drive and hunger to break out, but you really shouldn’t send out finished scripts or film ideas without some written legal protection anyway. I appreciate it, but I delete as soon as I see the words “…this great idea/script.” I have a first degree in law.. I ain’t playing with y’all” –
Canada based filmmaker, Jude Idada ccused Oboli of stealing his story or idea for the movie. According to Jude, Oboli had solicited his help in writing the script. Along the line, she called off the deal but went ahead to use his story and idea, changing just a few things.
Omoni Oboli, in reaction to Idada claims, said the movie was 100% her idea.
