Nigerian singer, 9ice, went down memory lane to describe the feelings that ran through him when he discovered he was going to be a father for the first time.

9ice fathered Zion with ex-wife, Toni Payne, when he was 28 years old and he says his son’s birth inspired him to do the song, ‘No Be Mistake’ in 2009.
According to him, he was initially scared after learning he was going to be a father, saying he didn’t feel ready to be one at the time.
“When news of my first child’s pregnancy got to me, I was gripped with fear because I thought I was too young to father a child,” he said in a recent interview.

“I was just 28-years old at that time so I wasn’t really prepared emotionally or otherwise, I felt I wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment.
‘When my son was finally born, it became clear to me that his birth was not a mistake,” 9ice said, adding, “This was what actually inspired me to write and sing the song No Be Mistake.”
The singer went on to have three more kids with other women.
