Actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor in talks to voice Scar in “The Lion King” movie remake

Oscar-nominated actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Odenigbo in Chimamanda Adichie’s Half of yellow sun movie, is in talks to voice the villain, Scar, in the live-action remake of the classic animation, The Lion King.

According to THR, Ejiofor would be joining a star-studded cast that includes Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner and John Oliver.
Glover would voice the main character, Simba, while Jones would voice his father, Mufasa, just as he did in the 1994 original.
The new Lion King is being directed by in Los Angeles by Jon Favreau, who was behind the scenes of another live-action remake, The Jungle Book.
