Actress Sotayo Sobola launches clothing, lipstick line

Nollywood actress, Sotayo Sobola has delved into the fashion and make up line, just like some of her colleagues, as well as dispelled rumors about the source of her wealth.

During the grand launch which took place at Raddin Blu hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State, the Yoruba actress revealed that the reason she went into fashion and makeup line was to fulfill her passion which she has been nursing for long.

“My lipstick line named, PopIt and clothing line ‘Clean Stitches’ have been on for over a year now, I was just test running them to make sure, I was ready for it, ‘ she told Allure Vanguard.

The Ogun State born also added that her  expensive look makes many people think she doesn’t lift a finger to do anything and that all she has were given to her by rich men.

Sotayo Sobola however revealed that she works very hard and that the only time she takes some rest is when she’s outside the country.

“The truth is that I work a lot even though I do not look like someone that works. I feel that I look like someone that just sits in a corner and people bring money to me and then I spend it lavishly. That is how I look. I am someone that can work for three weeks non-stop; I sleep at about 5 am and wake up three hours later.

The only time I relax is when I am out of the country. I travel a lot. I could work for three weeks, travel out of Nigeria for about five days and when I return, I would be refreshed. The man in my life understands my personality. We have been able to manage my work schedule and we are still managing it.

“It is normal for people to say that it is men that give me money. Every successful woman hears people say things like that. Every hard working woman hears that every time but it is always good to turn a deaf ear to such side talks.

I just focus on what I want to achieve, I do not listen to what anybody says and I do not let anyone distract me. Whoever makes such comments obviously does not work to earn their money. If you work hard, a man could be there to support you because nobody wants to give money to somebody whose source of income cannot be traced. I work for my money and I also get support from friends. I do not care about what people say, I just focus on my work” , Sotayo Sobola said.
