Africa’s richest man and chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has been listed as the only black person to have made it into Forbes’ ‘The World’s Most Powerful People’ in 2018.
The business magnate moves up 2 spaces from the 68th position in 2017 to 66th. Last year, Aliko Dangote was not the only black person on the list, former US president, Barack Obama was present too.
Chinese President Xi Jinping clinched number one spot in this year’s list after his country amended its constitution, granting him the opportunity to rule for life. He displaced Russian President Vladimir Putin off the top spot, which he had occupied for 4 years.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump falls to the 3rd spot before the world’s most powerful woman, Angela Merkel. And then, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud makes his debut on the list at number 8.
