Tennis star, Serena Williams is back on social media, thanking those who supported her journey back into competitive state, especially at the just-concluded Wimbedon Finals.
The 36-year-old also has inspiring words for mothers all over the world.
She wrote on her Instagram page: “These past 2 weeks was a sound for all moms stay home and working you can do it you really can! I’m not any better or diff than any of you all. Your support has meant so much to me. Let’s keep making noise every day in everything we do. #roadtoUSOpen.”
Reacting to her performance, Serena’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, opened up about their family fears just 10 months ago, when the champ was wheeled in for surgery following complication she suffered after the birth of their daughter, Alexis Olympia.
“We just wanted her to survive—10 months later, she’s in the #Wimbledon final,” the Reddit boss wrote on his social media. “@serenawilliams will be holding a trophy again soon—she’s got the greatest one waiting at home for her —and our family knows she’ll win many more trophies, too. She’s just getting started.”
Angelique Kerber beat Serena Williams for her first grand slam victory with a stunning 6-3, 6-3 victory in Saturday’s final. And this makes Kerber the first German woman to win Wimbledon in 22 years.
