Charly Boys successfully undergoes prostate cancer surgery

Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has successfully undergone surgery to alleviate prostate cancer in an undisclosed medical facility in Lagos State, according to a recent interview with Saturday Vanguard.

The self-acclaimed ‘Area Fada’ expressed confidence in his recovery, stating that it is not the first battle he has fought and he is certain he will win this one too.

Charly Boy encouraged men to face the scourge of prostate cancer head-on by getting tested and seeking treatment earlier, as early detection guarantees success in its treatment.

He urged men to share their medical conditions with friends and family so as not to die in silence, emphasizing that a problem shared is half solved.

“It is for this reason that I am discussing my health matters publicly so that my fellow men will learn from my experience. My doctor is very happy with my progress so far during and after the surgery,” he said.

In 2022, Charly Boy opened up about having prostate cancer after joining the awareness against the deadly disease.

He promised to fight the ailment and emerge victorious against it, reiterating that statement during the recent interview.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men worldwide, with approximately 1.4 million new cases reported in 2020 alone.

It is important for men to get tested and seek treatment early, as early detection increases the chances of successful treatment.
