Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, responded to reports that a purported nude video and images of her are being shared on social media.

On Sunday, a blogger claimed that Laide’s purported younger lover in Indianapolis, USA, had leaked her naked photos to WhatsApp groups.

The blogger criticized Laide for reportedly sharing her revealing videos and photos with the claimed lover in the post.

The mother took to her Instagram account to dismiss the claims after initial silence on the subject.

She claimed that she was tempted to ignore the news, but in the end decided to speak out in order to protect her reputation and calm the concerns of her family, friends, and supporters.

The actress, producer, and role model Bakare continued by outlining her position and her resolve to collaborate with law enforcement authorities and cyber security experts to bring the perpetrators of the criminal act to justice.

She said;

My attention has been drawn to a fake and malicious news circulating in the social media alleging that I sent my nude pictures to a so-called lover, who has now released same to the public.

My initial reaction was to ignore this completely false and sensational story. However, in the interest of my family, friends and fans all over the world, who are concerned and embarrassed by these wicked lies, I hereby state emphatically that these stories are completely false and the handiwork of some wicked and mindless people.

I have never and I will never share my nude pictures with anyone. Not even in my long acting career have I accepted a nude role.

I am an actress, movie producer and role model of international standing with over 2 decades of hard-earned reputation. In defence of this profile and in order not to grant victory to evil-doers, I am now taking steps to bring in law enforcement and cyber security experts in Nigeria and Internationally to get to the root of this malicious act and bring the shameless perpetrators to justice.

Following the advice of my lawyers and security agents, I will not be making any further comments on this until otherwise advised.

I thank my family, friends and fans, who have shown love and concern during this period. I love you all and I will remain unshaken.
