Tennis Champion, Serena Willimas stuns in custom made Virgil Abloh’s suit
Last year, tennis champion, Serena Williams’ shook the airwaves when her name after her outfit- a black cat suit was banned from the French tennis opening. The French tennis body thought it was out of place and went ahead to ban the suit she had dedicated to all mothers all over the world.
A year later, the tennis champion is back in Paris with a louder message for all her critics in a new outfit designed by Virgil Abloh for Nike.
Serena, who had before the opening suffered major health complications after the birth of her daughter and the suit, wakanda- Inspired and designed by Virgil Abloh,was built to prevent blood clots, a reccuring health issue from the birthing.
The words “Queen,” “Champion,” “Mother,” and “Goddess” were written in both English and French all over the black and white Off-White x Nike jacket she wore for Roland Garros ahead of her match against Russian tennis player Vitalia Diatchenko.
For the actual match, the mom of onewore the jacket to reveal a snazzy sports bra and skirt of same design . And yes, she won.
Serena Williams first showed off the outfit on social media, in black and white photos of herself dressed in the same jacket and sports bra with a floor-length skirt with the designer Virgil Abloh.
She wrote:
“Let the Roland Garros begin,”
“Here is my French Open look designed by @virgilabloh and @nike.”
