Nollywood actress, Funke Adesiyan took a break from social media and her reasons are valid. While we spend so much time on social media, we often forget that our real life is far different from the picture other people paint to us.

Taking a break from social media helps us to keep our lives in focus.

She wrote,

I took a break from social media for almost two months for few reasons.
1. To further drive home the point that many people on social media are not your friends. They are more like parasites who feed on your page for the sole reason of entertainment. They want to have something to say when others talk about you. Sad.

I feel real pity for people who would do anything for the buzz and clout of social media lifestyle. My dear, it’s all facadé. Do not rub yourself of real happiness for few likes and comments. If you are not happy inside of you, what’s the essence of faking it? You will constantly go to bed feeling empty.

2. (I am also guilty of this) If you have not heard from those around you for more than a month, please check on them. Make calls, send messages. The world is a crazy jungle and we are all we’ve got.
