Olorunshola Emmanuel gets kudos for proper handling a sexual harassment case
An entrepreneur, Olorunshola Emmanuel has been hailed for how he handled a case of sexual harassment involving two staff members.
According to his tweet, Emmanuel had gone round to ask every member of his staff what challenges they were encountering and the cleaner reported a case of sexual harassment from another staff, to the extent of slapping her.
This morning at d office, I walk to every of my staff to ask their individual challenges in the job & when I got to d cleaner, she said whenever she's cleaning Mr X usually tap her ass & she keep warning him to d extent dt Mr X slapped her on Saturday.
Mr X has just been fired!— Olorunshola Emmanuel (@iamimanuel) September 9, 2019
Yes sir, with other staff including male and female confirming the Saturday’s event.
I didn’t even know anything happened on Saturday, I wasn’t at the office, I just periodically engage my staff to know how they’re fairing and this came out.— Olorunshola Emmanuel (@iamimanuel) September 9, 2019
Noting that he had fired the man involved, Emmanuel has been applauded for passing across a very strong message in his organisation.

You didn’t just fire Mr. X.
You did so many things:
You sent strong messages (so many… I won’t state here)
You showed that you are protective of the less vulnerable.
You had just set a standard.
You won so many hearts you won’t imagine. Kudos!— Joshua (@Julia_sDad) September 9, 2019
Sexual harassment is a serious offence and culprits should be duly sanctioned. Did Mr X give his own version of the story or has there been previous incidents that led to his being fired now as per “the straw that broke the camel’s back”

I like her candour. I think you should open a line of communication for staff to report workplace challenges to your HR officer and copy you.

Thank you so much for doing this. Beyond being fired, he should actually be sued too. This is sexual harassment and battery all at the same time.
