This is the inspiration behind Mo Abudu’s no makeup look for her 55th birthday

Birthday pictures are a representation of the mood of the celebrant, and many times, these pictures tell stories. For media mogul, Mo Abudu, who clocks 55 today, it is not different.

mogul, Mo Abudu, who clocks 55 today

Mo went for the natural look, with barely any makeup on. No contouring or highlighting and the styling was minimal.

According to TY Bello who shot the pictures, Mo Abudu was glowing so much the first time she photographed her.

Mo Abudu

So, when Mo asked her to photograph her for her 55th birthday, she decided to draw on the inspiration of the look she had the first time she photographed her.

She said,

I remember asking her if she was a model . I had never photographed anyone with a more beautiful bone structure and poreless skin.. she looked like she was in her 20s at best.

If Dreams stir up your passion then HARD WORK is the Afterglow .. and MO Abudu is glowing!

It was this glow I was after when she asked me to photograph her for her 55th birthday .. I closed my eyes and caught a glimpse of our very first session again. I wanted the images to be completely stripped down. Barely any makeup .. no contouring or highlighting..minimal styling .. Just pure Mo in her beautiful brown skin …. powerful .. peaceful and joyful.

Check out her beautiful pictures below

MO ABUDU AT 55: The first time I photographed @moabudu was in 2002 .. I was working on a book with @ayonatrimnell on Amazing Nigerian women in their forties. She was driving the consulting firm Vick Laurence at the time ..I remember asking her if she was a model . I had never photographed anyone with a more beautiful bone structure and poreless skin.. she looked like she was in her 20s at best . Then I saw something happen .. the excitement every time she Planted her ‘Dream Seed ‘..Aunty Mo had her eye on media . This drew me to her .. I also was also just at the beginning of my photography and music career trying to win at ventures that were unpopular at the time . So our journey began.. photo shoot after Photoshoot .. dream After dream ..EXECUTION after EXECUTION .I have watched her achieve the impossible . I have learnt so much from Her .. if Dreams stir up your passion then HARD WORK is the After glow .. and MO Abudu is glowing !.. it’s not even funny . It was this glow I was after when she asked me to photograph her for her 55th birthday .. I closed my eyes and caught a glimpse of our very first session again. I wanted the images to be completely stripped down . Barely any makeup .. no contouring or highlighting..minimal stying .. Just pure Mo in her beautiful brown skin …. powerful .. peaceful and joyful . It was great to work with @banksbmpro again on this one .. she was also there at the very first shoot and of course Magic fingered her way to this natural look .. Making these photos Blessed me .. I got to see capture our amazing force of a woman again .. Sprinkling more dream seeds .. she’s mastered that now.its an art form .. I stare at her and look at the seeds I’m also carrying .. sometimes so timidly ..I become less afraid .. I’m exactly where aunty Mo was when I first met her .. I’ve mastered the last 20 years and Its Time to launch out and evolve .I boldly sprinkle these seeds with wisdom and strength .. ITS A NEW DAY .. All hail the brown skin girl.. happy birthday aunty mo #tybellphotography #portrait # moabudu #makeup by @banksbmpro #hair by @haircraft_
