Kizz Daniel’s concert will hold as planned, Despite G-Worldwide’s Treat- Legal Team

Kizz Daniel’s legal team, L and A Legal Consultants, has maintained that the singer’s concert scheduled to hold in Lagos next week will still hold despite recent threats from his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment.

Addressing journalists in Lagos during the week, the artiste’s legal team alleged that there is no court order restraining Daniel from performing his craft as an artiste.

A member of the team, Oluwaseye Lawal, said, “Many people believe that only the label can end such agreements which is not true. It depends on the specific terms of the contract. We would like to state though that Kizz did not breach his contract, he terminated it formally after issuing a notice of termination as required by the contract. We want to state that there is no court order anywhere in the world preventing Kizz Daniel from performing his craft. We call on all his fans to come out and enjoy good music.”

A lawyer representing the promoters of the show, Melvin Ahior, also stated that the concert was not owned by Kizz Daniel but a group of promoters who ‘employed’ the music act, alongside several others, to perform at the show.

He said, “To the best of my knowledge, there is no court injunction and the show is still going to hold. It hasn’t been cancelled. It is still surprising to us who is said to have cancelled the show. The promoters did not cancel the show. The show is going to be held and he is going to perform.”

Meanwhile, a senior lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba, who represents G-Worldwide Entertainment, had said last week that his law firm would seek an injunction to stop the forthcoming show. He also warned third parties not to have any business dealings with Kizz Daniel. He had said, “It would not be in their interest to touch him until the court resolves the case. We are warning all third party people to stay away and let the court give its judgment, one way or the other.”
